Heart of the Gargano, Vieste is a perfect destination for exploring the naturalistic surroundings of the wildest Puglia with its Natural National Park of Gargano. The town offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the region and white stone cliffs. Famous is the presence of the characteristic trabucchi (ancient fishing platforms) where you can closely observe the maritime activity, taste the fish delicacies or participate in the numerous boat trips. Explore its ancient perched village, which still preserves the medieval alleys and the well-known "belvedere squares", opening onto boundless maritime panoramas. You can take advantage of shopping in the shops with modern craftsmanship and in the workshops of ancient crafts.
About the tour
The visit of Vieste by foot to discover the hamlet's gems is recommended for those who love calm and prefer to appreciate all the details invisible to a quick eye. You will meet with the guide at the agreed point and time, and the tour will start. If you (or your group) are the only participants, you can propose the guide a particular point and time. Costs (and inclusions)
The participation fee for a cultural (walking) tour is € 25 per person and includes the activity of the tour guide, while it doesn't include meals or anything else.
Some community organizers may indicate slightly different prices depending on the services offered.
Duration and Period
The guided tours of Vieste have a duration of about 2 hours, and almost all the organizers leave freedom of choice on the departure time. We suggest spending half a day in Vieste, and dedicating the other half to visiting a second place (the visit of Peschici or Monte Sant'Angelo is highly recommended). Available all year round.
Available places
Tours generally start with groups of 2 to 25 participants, but many organizers are flexible and also start with one person, or with groups larger than 25. On tours where you visit only one city, you meet directly on site: the organizer will indicate the meeting point immediately after booking, often agreeing this point with the guest.
Alternatively, if you choose a two-stage day tour (check tours of 2 locations or ask to our staff through the Whatsapp button at the bottom of the page) In the full day tour our organizers are available to offer - often free of charge - a ride by car (in the case of a few people) or to organize transport by bus or minibus (in case of groups).
